Pearls are unique in the world, as they are the only gemstone to come from a living creature. In Ancient Greek culture Pearls were treasured as the tears of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. Most Pearls on the market today are cultured, since they now occur extremely rarely in nature. They can range in coloration from traditional white to pink or a beautiful grey Tahitian pearl, and a gold South Sea pearl.

Pearls symbolize wisdom and are also believed to bring love, wealth, happiness and luck to the wearer. It is believed that people who wear Pearls can succeed in creative work.

Pearls are very popular gemstones for wedding gift or wedding day jewellery, as they symbolize purity, innocence, elegance and are deeply linked with a successful married life.

Care guide for Pearls: Pearls are a comparatively soft gem and require special care. Store them separately from other jewellery in a soft box, to prevent scratching. Always apply perfume and other cosmetic products before putting on your pearl jewellery, to avoid chemical impacts. For cleaning, use room-temperature, mild dish soapy water with a soft brush and dry with a soft cloth.

ALEXANDRITE

Alexandrite in a beautiful gemstone, also called “emerald by day, ruby by night” due to its colour changing capability. It appears vivid green to bluish green under daylight and intense red to purplish red in incandescent illumination.

Alexandrite is a quite modern gemstone, discovered in Russia’s Ural Mountains. Legends claim that it was named after Russian Czar Alexander II to honour him, as it was discovered on the same day heir apparent to the throne.

It is considered to be a stone of very good omen, which brings luck, good fortune and love to the wearer. It’s a stone that’s known to bring balance between your physical and spiritual world, to strengthen your intuition, boost your creativity, and unleash your imagination.

This birthstone is quite hard—8.5 on the Mohs scale, which makes it a good choice for rings and other jewellery to daily wear, even as a bespoke engagement ring for people who are looking for a gemstone that’s a bit different from the traditional ones.

Care guide for Alexandrite: although it is best to clean in warm, soapy water, ultrasonic and steam cleaners are usually safe as well due to its hardness.

MOONSTONE

Moonstone, rooted in mysticism, was named for its resemblance to the waning and waxing of the moon, shifted from clear to milky-white and blue colours.

As a reflection of the moon itself, Moonstone is a powerful gem that can mean a lot of things with its diverse healing effects. It cultivates empathy, and enhances our intuitions and clairvoyance. The creative power of feminine energy is also known to be activated by the Moonstone, just like helping us balance and cool down emotions and stress.  In Middle Eastern countries Moonstone is viewed as a symbol of fertility and vitality with a powerful, good spirit. It is said to bring good fortune, therefore it is considered as a lucky stone used for a lot of jewelleries, to create the perfect birthday gift.  As wedding jewellery, it signifies that your love will last a lifetime while guiding you throughout life's many changes; it is also traditionally gifted to the 13th year of marriage.

Care guide for Moonstone: Moonstone is a 6–6.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness, which means that it is quite delicate, so has to be handled with care. The best option for cleaning is room-temperature, mild dish soapy water with a soft brush, and then dry it with a soft cloth. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners should not be used on your Moonstone as it may crack when exposed to high heat.
